NIXON, JOLLY LAUNDER MONEY AGAIN...
A political action committee, Public Safety Concern, had an Ethics
Commission Complaint filed against them for its Financial Disclosure report
dated 5/4/2006. The PAC contributed funds to State Representative Cathy
Jolly and Attorney General Jay Nixon but failed to disclose the source of
those funds.
According to Missouri law, voters are entitled to know the source of funds given to candidates seeking public office. The report only discloses that the funds came from an obscure PAC operating out of a PO Box. Missouri law requires higher standards for disclosure than what was provided.
Public Safety Concern reported receiving $2260 this period but fails to disclose who donated the money. The entire page has a large "N/A" written across it. The source of the $2260 could not be found anywhere on the report. Public Safety Concern reported making contributions of $1200 to the Committee to Elect Cathy Jolly and $1275 to the Nixon for Governor Campaign committee. They complaint was filed by Bob Gough of the Jackson County Taxpayers Association.
Could it be the Democrats are funneling money from obscure PACs once again? Jay Nixon, notorious for his funneling schemes, should know better than to accept this donation. Nixon should also know better simply because he is the state's chief law officer. Cathy Jolly should also know better. She served as an assistant Prosecutor before being elected to office.
It is obvious the state of Missouri needs to clean house when it come to Democrats who feel the laws don't apply to them. The Source calls on Jolly and Nixon to return the donations and to put a stop to their illegal campaign tactics.
